FOREST PARK, OH (FOX19) - A free zumba event featuring multiple instuctors is being held on Saturday, May 18 from 9:30am - 10:30am in Forest Park.

Zumba is being held at the Forest Park Senior Center Parking lot at 11555 Winton Road.

Three McAuley seniors commit to college sports

Three McAuley seniors commit to college sports

COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) - Three McAuley High School seniors participated in an athletic commitment ceremony after school on May 15.

Alexis Bierbaum, the daughter of Phil and Denise Bierbaum of Bridgetown, will by playing volleyball at Thomas More College where she plans to major in nursing.

Jamie Ertel will also attend Thomas More College where she will play softball and major in biology.  She is the daughter of Matt and Mary McKeever of Mt. Healthy.

Committing to play softball next year for Heidelberg University is Randi Kelsey.  The daughter of Davy and Mary Kelsey of Springfield Township, Randi has plans to major in criminal justice.

West Side Classic to benefit Ollie Schmitt Foundation

CHEVIOT, OH (FOX19)   - Two west-side select youth baseball clubs have banded together to host a baseball tournament Saturday, May 18th at Cheviot Fieldhouse. The West Side Raiders and Cincinnati West Stars will donate proceeds collected at the game to the Ollie Schmitt Foundation.

Several families involved have benefitted from the Ollie Schmitt Foundation in the past, and the kids and coaches alike wanted to offer something in return. The Ollie Schmitt Foundation for Scholarships and Assistance benefits families and children in crisis. The Foundation is located at 3621 Glenway Ave. The Foundation aides both St. Williams School in Price Hill and Margaret B. Rost School for the Developmentally Disabled.

Friday Night Floats for anyone interested in kayaking

WINTON WOODS, OH (FOX19) -  The first Friday Night Float of the year at Winton Woods Lake is set to take place on Friday, May 17 at 7:30pm.

Get some pointers on kayaking, learn a little natural history of the lake and then head out on the water to enjoy Winton Lake at sunset.

The cost is $12.00 per person and includes all paddling and safety equipment. Registration is required at greatparks.org/events by May 15.

Friday Night Floats are recommended for all skill levels ages 8 and up, but children must be accompanied by an adult on the water. The event is led by an American Canoe Association certified instructor and is part of the University of Great Outdoors (UGO). Stationed at Adventure Outpost in Winton Woods, the UGO encourages outdoor recreation, good health and nature appreciation in the great outdoors.

Sign Up Now for Ultimate Warrior Women Football Camp

FOREST PARK, OH (FOX19) - Girls and women throughout Winton Woods City Schools can experience the life of a football player at the Ultimate Warrior Women Football Camp on Saturday, May 11, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Winton Woods High School stadium.

“This is our chance to show the boys what we’re made of,” said Kim Sherman, who is helping to coordinate the event. “Women will compete in a variety of activities to prove once and for all that women truly can do whatever men can do, only better.”

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by Football 101, where the Winton Woods football coaches will show game films and explain football terms and basics. At 11:00 a.m. there will be discipline stations, including throwing, kicking, blocking, running and guarding. During the women’s competition and award ceremony, which starts at 12:30 p.m., there will be a game, competitions and an obstacle course.
