Winton Woods District introduces new Chinese teachers

FOREST PARK, OH (FOX19) - With the hiring of three new Chinese teachers for the 2012-2013 school year, Winton Woods City Schools affirms its commitment to Chinese language and culture education for its students. The three teachers are Julia Ding, who will teach at Winton Woods Elementary School; Rose Yang, who will teach at Winton Woods High School; and Viola Ji, who will teach at Winton Woods Intermediate School.

The Chinese teachers are part of the Chinese Guest Teacher Program, which is administered through the College Board and China’s Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban).

The program arranges for visiting teachers from China to teach in U.S. elementary, middle and high schools for one to three years, in order to jump-start or expand school Chinese language and culture programs.
