FOREST PARK, OH (FOX19) - The Winton Woods Board of Education voted at its organizational meeting on January 8 to change its regular meeting time to 6:30 p.m. for 2013.
“This earlier time will provide consistency between school-year and summer meetings and will be easier on our administrators and teachers who start their days early in the morning,” said Board President Tim Cleary. “Hopefully, it will also be more convenient for our parents and community members.”
The board also voted to change the location of its meetings on a quarterly basis. “We want to move our meetings into the communities we serve to make it more convenient for community members to be engaged and attend a board meeting in their neighborhood,” said Cleary. Board awards will also be given out at those quarterly meetings, instead of on a monthly basis. This will allow the board more time to address the district’s academics, communications, and financial standing, while providing a larger forum and focus on those being recognized for outstanding achievement. Quarterly award meetings for 2013 will be held on March 25, June 24, September 23 and December 9. The location of those meetings is yet to be determined.
Regular board meetings will be held during 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Board offices, located at 1215 West Kemper Road in Forest Park. They will take place on:
- January 28
- February 25
- April 22
- May 20
- July 22
- August 26
- October 28
- November 25
Board work sessions are scheduled for February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14 and November 11.
The Winton Woods School District serves the communities of Greenhills, Forest Park and Springfield Township.
