Libertarian Berns running for Congress in First District | Politics
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Jim Berns of College Hill, who describes himself as Cincinnati's best known Libertarian, filed petitions at the Hamilton County Board of Elections last week to run for Congress in the First District of Ohio.
This will be Berns' 4th run for this Congressional seat having previously run against Tom Luken, David Mann, Charlie Luken and Steve Chabot.
Incumbent Steve Chabot, a Republican, may be expected to run again. Democratic State Representative Connie Pillich had discussed running in either the First or Second District, but recently has indicted she'll likely run for reelection.
"Since no one else has filed petitions to run in the First District, that must make me the front runner!" Berns said.
Berns has recently campaigned in favor of people buying American products, and against red-light cameras in the city of Hamilton.
