Delhi Township resident and instructor at Antonelli College, wins prestigious teaching award | People
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Shanon R. Rice, a photography faculty member at Antonelli College, in Cincinnati, received the prestigious 2011 Master Teacher Award from the Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools at the group’s annual meeting in Columbus. Each year, the Association honors instructors and teachers at career colleges and schools for outstanding service to their students, institutions and profession.
“Shanon is a very worthy candidate for the Master Teacher award,” said Karen Gautreau, Campus President of Antonelli College in Cincinnati and West Chester, Ohio. “She is being recognized for her hard work, dedication, and commitment to the students of Antonelli College.”
Rice has studied at Sinclair Community College and the School of Design, Architecture, Art, & Planning at the University of Cincinnati. She began teaching at Antonelli College in 2000, where she specializes in all aspects of computer instruction, from introduction to computers, to digital imaging using Photoshop, color management, advanced compositing, and design. Currently, she is seeking her graduate degree from the Art Academy University of San Francisco.
In addition, Rice is the director and co-founder of EduDoc Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving vanishing aspects of society through documentation. Currently, they are promoting a documentary on Southeastern Coalminers. She is also a board member of the Appalachian Community Development Association, has received a “Best of” award from the ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) for her documentary on coalminers, was a guest instructor at Western Michigan University, and presented at the Society of Photographic Educators Midwest Conference.
Rice currently lives in Delhi Township, Ohio.
