Green Township rider dead after crash with car on Glenway | News
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- A motorcyclist has died in the hospital after crashing into a car Tuesday afternoon.
Police say 77-year-old Joanne Case of the 6600 block of Hearne Rd in Green Township was operating a silver 2001 Honda Civic inbound on Glenway Ave. She was turning left into the lot of 6318 Glenway Avenue, which is the address of the Bob Evans restaurant that sits in front of the Dillard's store.
As Joanne Case was completing her turn, her car was hit on the passenger side by a 2007 Suzuki GSxR motorcycle, which was traveling outbound on Glenway Ave., in the curb lane of travel. The motorcycle was operated by 24-year-old Thomas Grady Jr. of the 3300 block of Bellehaven Court in Green Township, which is just blocks from the crash scene.
Police say Grady was then thrown from his motorcycle as a result of the crash. He was take to Mercy Western Hills Hospital by Green Township Life Squad where he was pronounced dead at 2:45 P.M. due to injuries sustained from the auto crash. Case was transported to Good Samaritan Western Ridge Hospital by Green Township Life Squad where she was treated and released for minor injuries.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash
The crash remains under investigation by the Green Township Police Department Traffic Unit. Anyone with additional information in regards to the crash is requested to call the Green Township Traffic Unit at 513-574-0007.
A witness told FOX19 that a car accidentally pulled out in front of the motorcycle while attempting to leave Dillards, which seems to be the opposite direction for the car described by the police. The small bike left a huge dent in the side and roof of the car.
