Park District selling seedlings in September | Home & Garden
Title (Max 100 Characters)
CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A wide variety of trees and shrubs are available just in time for fall planting season during the Hamilton County Park District's 2011 Native Tree Sale. The order deadline is September 16 and the plant pick up dates are September 24 and 25.
The trees and shrubs sold are locally grown from regionally collected seed. Planting trees and shrubs in the fall allows time for them to establish a healthy root system before the winter season. While great efforts are made to ensure good health for the plants, the Hamilton County Park District cannot guarantee the survival of the plants once they are sold.
Supplies are limited and tree availability is subject to change. Trees and shrubs are $25.00 each. Pick up locations are on September 24 and 25 at Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve at 3455 Poole Rd., Colerain Township and September 25 at Sharon Woods at 11450 Lebanon Rd., Sharonville, and Woodland Mound at 8250 Old Kellogg Rd., Anderson Township.
Orders can be placed online at www.GreatParks.org. For mail order, send a completed form (found online or in the summer Evergreen guide) and payment to: Native Tree Sale, Hamilton County Park District, 10245 Winton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
