Beech Acres to host Parenting Workshop on conflict resolution

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Beech Acres Parenting Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting parents and caregivers in raising children who thrive, will be hosting a ‘For the Love of Kids’ monthly parenting workshop on February 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at its Anderson campus (6881 Beechmont Ave; 45230).

The workshop topic is Conflict Resolution: effective techniques for reducing conflict and stress in the home. It is a must for parents who have ever found themselves feeling like they’re not speaking the same language as their children or who have ever started a discussion only to have it end in an argument. Presenters Dan and Diana Rimstidt will teach participants strategies for improving communication and resolving conflict favorably.

“The idea isn’t to avoid conflict all together because that means somebody’s needs are not being met. Instead, our goal is to help parents get to the point where they can come up with a solution together with their child,” said Dan Rimstidt, who will be presenting the workshop with his wife, Diana. They each have a master’s degree in conflict resolution and have spent the past eight years helping parents resolve conflict related to communication and family issues.

Cost is $15 and pre-registration is required at www.beechacres.org/workshops. The workshop is approved for 1 CEU for Ohio Social Workers and Counselors
Social Work #RSX058914 – Social work methods Counselor #RCX048903 – Methods of intervention and prevention of mental and emotional disorders
