FOREST PARK, OH (FOX19) - A free zumba event featuring multiple instuctors is being held on Saturday, May 18 from 9:30am - 10:30am in Forest Park.

Zumba is being held at the Forest Park Senior Center Parking lot at 11555 Winton Road.

CincItalia Festival kicks off in Cheviot

CHEVIOT, OH (FOX19) - The annual CincItalia Festival is a three-day celebration that beigns on Friday, May 17 at the Harvest Home Park Fairgrounds in Cheviot.

The festival is presented by St. Catharine of Siena in Westwood.

An adults-only Carbevale kicks off on Friday for anyone 19 years and over from 6pm - midnight. The entire family is invited to join the fun on Saturday and Sunday where there will be cooking demonstrations and live music.

Proceeds from the event benefit St. Catharine of Siena as well as San Antonio Italian Church and scholarship funds for three Italian societies.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - From nature preserves and parkways, to regional and neighborhood parks, Cincinnati has a long and proud history of enhancing the quality of life through outdoor recreation. In keeping with this tradition, Cincinnati Parks, in partnership with ArtWorks and the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, is gathering community input on the design of a new carousel to be built at Smale Riverfront Park.

Through May 30, the Main Library is displaying selections from its historic postcard collection in A Place of Beauty, Health and Play: A History of Cincinnati Parks. This display features more than 60 images of 17 parks, including Ault, Eden, Lincoln, Mount Echo and Washington parks.   Images from the display can be viewed at http://cinlib.org/YIsCAq.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Members of the Germania Society are hosting a celebration to officially celebrate Spring on May 17, 18 and 19.

The 2nd annual Germania Maifest focuses more on a picnic-style, family-friendly event and will include a variety of activities, including a Maibaum (Maypole) raising, a Mai Konigen (Queen) coronation and a traditional Maitanz (May Dance) will be part of the celebration.

Entertainment for all ages will be offered throughout the weekend, including games for children and adults, face painting and rides.  Fest music includes Final Order, The Goodle Boys, Klaberheads, Alpen Echos and Schlager.  Opening ceremonies begin Saturday with the parade at 4:30pm followed by the Maiqueen coronation and keg tapping.

Public Library holds Fine Amnesty Day May 15

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - On May 8 the Public Library received a National Medal for Library Service from the Institute for Museum and Library Service. This award is the nation’s highest honor recognizing museums and libraries for their service to the community.

To celebrate this national recognition and thank our community for their support, we're holding a Fine Amnesty Day on Wednesday, May 15. During Fine Amnesty Day, outstanding fines will be removed from library cards. The fines may be the result of items returned prior to or on May 15.

Mother of Mercy to Host Mother/Daughter Event

WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) - Mother of Mercy High School invites 1st – 4th grade girls and their moms (or guardian, aunt, grandma, etc.) to the school’s 3rd annual tea party event, Pinkies Out.  The event will be on Saturday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Westwood school located at 3036 Werk Road.

Guests will indulge in quality girl time, which will include scrumptious bites, crafts, make-up and a fashion show! Everyone is invited to dress to impress in pink party wear!
