CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A second man was indicted Tuesday for aggravated murder in the death of 29-year-old Jovan Zachary. The grand jury says 19-year-old Givonta Coates can be prosecuted for aggravated murder, murder, aggravated robbery, and weapons under disability for her death. He has also been indicted for the aggravated robbery of a second woman, Savanna Gaskins. The Hamilton County prosecutor's office says the second victim was there when Zachary was shot in May.
Coates lived on Manss Avenue, only two blocks from the crime scene on Iliff Avenue in East Price Hill.
The weapons under disability charge dates from a robbery and aggravated assault case from 2007, when Coates would mostly like have been 15; he will turn twenty on January 4th.
22-year-old Anthony Hall of Forest Park was indicted last summer in the same case. That indictment only names Jovan Zachary as a victim. He is in jail on a $1.2 million dollar bond. Coates' bond is $1.1 million. His arraignment date hasn't been listed yet but should be soon.
Jovan Zachary had been an athlete at Mt. Notre Dame High School in Reading and Tiffin University in Northwest Ohio, where she also led a student organization
