Photo submission begins for Price Hill contest

PRICE HILL, OH (FOX19) - The third annual “Price Hill: Looking Up” photo contest, sponsored by Price Hill Will, is accepting entries now.  Prizes will be awarded for the best photographs depicting positive images of Price Hill – East, West and Lower.

“This has become one of the best parts of my job,” said Matt Strauss, Price Hill Will’s director of marketing and neighborhood promotion. “People are really excited to show off the neighborhood and their artistic talents at the same time.  We get some great stuff every year.”

There will be three categories for submissions to the contest:

● Natural Price Hill – photos of non-human made objects within Price Hill.  Nature photographs that contain human made objects that are not the subject (i.e., are in the background) of the photograph will be considered under this category.

● The Architecture of Price Hill – any buildings or close-ups of buildings in Price Hill.  Pictures highlighting the views from Price Hill will be considered in this category unless they focus specifically on nature. (The judges will make the determination.)  All human-made objects that aren’t buildings will fit into this category as well.

● The People of Price Hill – photos of people in the neighborhood, whether residents, business people or people who happen to be in the neighborhood when the picture is taken.

All of these photos must be taken in Price Hill.

Submissions can be submitted now.  Entries are due by the end of business on August 3, 2012.  All submissions must be electronic and sent via e mail to matt@pricehillwill.org  For contest rules e mail matt@pricehillwill.org

Six finalists (two for each category) will be announced on August 15 at www.PriceHillLiving.com and the winners of each category, as well as the Grand Prize winner will be announced at our Illuminating the Arts event on August 24.  Prizes will include framed copies of the photographer’s work and more.  As many submissions as possible will be displayed on the website www.pricehillliving.com and winners will be on published in the Price Hill Press.
