HANOVER TOWNSHIP, BUTLER COUNTY, OH (FOX19) – Another in a series of oversized shipments from the Anderson Ferry on the Ohio River in Cincinnati to a plant in Middletown was slowing and/or closing U.S. 27 north of Millville Wednesday afternoon.
Andrew Bohannon of Miami University tried to pass through the area around 4:30 and found it blocked, not moving in either direction. Dispatchers didn't know when thety were going to leave 27 or stop work for the night,
Today’s shipment was moving up U.S. 27, often at walking speed or less. Anytime the shipment comes up on wires that go across the road at a comparatively low height, workers have use poles to lift the wires up for the oversized trailer to go through.
The shipments also have to take a long and crazy route to avoid overpasses, so they are alternately using highways and side roads to get through.
