COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) - (Sent by Kathy Dietrich)
McAuley high school junior Emma Webb will be appearing in Cincinnati Ballet's annual production of The Nutcracker in December.
This season, Emma will be one of two Arabian scarf girls, the Chinese dragon, a soldier, and one of the flowers in the Waltz of the Flowers, her biggest role to date. She is looking forward to the challenges of both the dances as well as the four costume changes! Another “first” for Emma is that she is an understudy for the part of flamingo in the ballet’s production of Alice in Wonderland. She is appreciative of the opportunity to really see how the ballet company works as she has attended rehearsals.
This is Emma’s sixth year of study at the Cincinnati Ballet Academy, where she takes ballet, modern, and pointe classes six nights per week; her only free evening is Sunday. She shares, “It’s like my job, but I love it so much!”
The daughter of Blaine and Cindy Webb of White Oak, Emma plans to double major in college in dance and either physical therapy or anatomy. She is considering University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, Indiana University, Butler University, and The Julliard School in New York City.
