Hamilton County Parks free summer concert series is back

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The summer schedule is set for the return of Hamilton County Park District’s Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series.

The concerts featuring local bands will be held on Saturdays from 7 - 9pm at different parks throughout the district.

The series kicks off June 8, at Miami Whitewater Harbor Forest Point with rock and classic country group, the Danny Frazier Band. Other artists include:

River City Rewind: June 15 at Fernbank Park

Dejavu: June 29 at Sharon Woods

Unbalanced: July 13 at Winton Woods Harbor Amphitheater

The Mistics: July 27 at Winton Woods Harbor Amphitheater

Hickory Robot: August 10 at Miami Whitewater Forest Harbor Point

Systems Go & Prism Brass: August 21 at Sharon Woods Cardinal Meadow

Power Up… READ! this summer at the Public Library

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - It’s time to “power up” your reading skills and earn prizes for participating in the 40th annual Summer Reading Program at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. This year’s theme, Power Up…Read!, offers all sorts of excitement by spotlighting “superheroes.”

To kick off a fun season of reading (June 1-July 31), ALL Library locations around Hamilton County are holding Summer Reading activities related to this exciting theme on Saturday, June 1. Children and their families are invited to stop by their neighborhood Library to decorate a superhero mask (while supplies last).

Special kickoff events at selected Library locations on June 1:

City-Neighborhood Partnerships Continue Momentum In College Hill

COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) - Demolition has begun in College Hill as six empty ruined buildings along Hamilton Avenue are planned to be destroyed. Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls and City Manager Milton Dohoney Jr. united with several College Hill organizations to tear down the non-useful blemishes of the business district to help improve the city.

 "Tearing down these buildings creates new opportunities for redevelopment so we can keep the momentum going in College Hill," said Mike Cappel, president of College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation.

College Hill provided $1.5 million dollars to obtain and tear down the buildings. The city foresees a multi-million dollar investment on the site.

Police look for SUV involved in B&E at local pub

Police are looking for a vehicle that was allegedly involved in a breaking and entering offense at Linnie's Pub in Delhi Township.

The vehicle appears to be a Buick Rendezvous, black or silver in color, with a roof rack.

On May 13 at around 3:45 a.m., two unknown suspect broke into the rear of the pub on Cleves Warsaw Road.

Once inside the bar, the suspects stole U.S. currency. Surveillance
footage from area businesses show the suspects fled to an awaiting vehicle that
was parked in the lot of neighboring business.

The suspects entered the vehicle
on the passenger side, suggesting there was a 3rd suspect waiting for them.

or the two attempt break-ins, please contact Delhi Police.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- Take a dip in the pool on Saturday – specifically CRC's McKie and Pleasant Ridge Pools. These two new pools are ready for their grand openings just in time for the summer season.

Both pools will have grand openings on Saturday, May 25. McKie's grand opening will be held at 11:30 a.m. (1655 Chase Ave., 45223) and the Pleasant Ridge grand opening will be held at 1:00 p.m. (5915 Ridge Ave., 45213).

McKie's new pool is part of a $4.2 million renovation which included the McKie center and the grounds. As part of the upgraded look, the McKie Family Aquatic Center has a new sprayground, new pool decks and a new pool filtration system. The McKie pool also has an ADA accessible chair lift.

Price Hill man reps Cincinnati in music video

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- A Cincinnati man makes a music video all about the Queen City.

Brandon Shields is a Price Hill native who just graduated from Cincinnati Christian on Saturday.

Shields wrote and produced the YouTube video, which now has more than 22,000 views.

He will his first live show opening for the Flobots on June 8 at Southgate House Revival.
